The house IO is located in a pine forest in Javea in an area very close to the sea. It is located in an area where we find typical houses of this area with a more traditional character. From here we studied the architectural bases of this typology to reinterpret them and develop our project from their most basic concepts.
A house on the highest part of a mountain overlooking the Mediterranean Sea looking for a clean and quiet look. The house on the hill.
The proximity of the sea and the imposing height of the mountain determined the character of the proposal. The result is a piece of sculptural essence and sinuous lines, wrapped in white planes that evoke purity in contrast with the deep blue of the sea. An architecture that enhances the landscape and is inscribed in it as a serene and timeless landmark.
A clean and simple space is created. A piece facing the exterior and the pool. Through its geometry, the day area, more public and relationship, is totally differentiated from the night area, more intimate and closed.
We used a white concrete skin, clean and sinuous like the Mediterranean Sea, which gives it a certain sculptural character and its white color evokes the materials of the classic Mediterranean facades.
