This multi-family building is born with the desire to integrate with the coastal landscape of Altea without renouncing a contemporary and emphatic architectural expression. Its privileged position facing the Mediterranean imposes a compromise between openness, protection and visual harmony.
A building that does not rest on the landscape, but is part of it: floating, organic and deeply Mediterranean.
The architecture blends in with the place. Facing the sea and with the Sierra de Bernia as a backdrop, the project takes advantage of its natural exposure to organize the dwellings in ascending terraces that amplify the visual relationship with the horizon. Each floor becomes a landscaped platform that extends the terrain towards the sea. Landscaping becomes architecture: green roofs and integrated planters provide ecological continuity and contribute to thermal attenuation, while views flow unobstructed, as if each home were floating above the waterfront.
The building is presented as a dynamic and sculpted volume, almost organic, that flees from geometric rigidity and responds fluidly to its surroundings. The sinuous shape of the terraces and slabs generates a changing perception from any point of view, evoking the natural rhythm of the waves or the wind that shapes the coast. The volume does not impose itself, but adapts, folding, staggering and opening to capture light, air and views. Each house enjoys privacy, orientation and direct connection with the sea, as if it were an individual house inserted in a harmonious whole.
The envelope is composed of a system of continuous white bands that wrap around each floor, drawing horizontal lines that reinforce the idea of stratification and rest.
These strips contrast with continuous glass planes and vertical wood slat surfaces, which act as solar filters and visual barriers, providing a warm and natural texture to the complex.
The alternation between opacity and transparency, between curved and straight, allows the skin of the building to react intelligently to its surroundings: it protects, illuminates, ventilates and beautifies.
In the interior, the relationship between open and closed spaces is regulated through these layers, creating a serene domestic experience connected to nature.
